When hydrated copper sulfate is heated, it turns white.
When water is added to white copper sulfate, it turns blue.
Blue copper sulfate contains hidden water.
In the presence of water, white anhydrous copper sulfate turns blue.
With other transparent liquids that do not contain water, it remains white.
